ba66540462 [svn-r19654] Description:
Bring Coverity revisions from branch back to trunk, and clean up some other
misc. compiler warnings also.

r19500:
Fix coverity items 1446 and 1447. Moved up calls to memset in test_cont in
ohdr.c so the test never tries to close uninitialized locations.

r19501:
Fix coverity items 1398-1445. Various uninitialized variable errors in fheap.c.

r19502:
Fixed coverity issue 579 and some additional warnings in the file as well.

r19503:
Bug fix: This fix addressed the "RESOURCE_LEAK" problems #789 and 790, run 26

r19504:
minor mods to try to keep coverity from flagging false positives.

r19505:
Fixed coverity issues 566 - 571. Declared variables that are passed to functions that use them as arrays to be arrays of size 1.

variable.

r18113:
Fix Coverity issue #129 by releasing the cache on error.

r18115:
Coverity #45 fix: patched an error check in H5Screate_simple to prevent future dereferencing of a NULL point.
Added a verification in test/th5s.c.

r18116:
Fix Coverity issue #43 by releasing cache on error.

r18117:
Coverity #362,363 by adding HGOTO_DONE, freeing allocations and associated changes. REsolving coverity results #364-368, 369, 370-372, 377, 379, and 380.

r18118:
Fix Coverity issue #42: assert that cache & test specification pointer are
valid.

r18122:
Coverity #362,363 by adding HGOTO_DONE and freeing allocations. This also takes care of #357,358.

r18123:
Coverity #359-361, 373-376: Added HGOTO_DONE(FAIL) statement after checking allocation for NULL. Verified allocation is freed in done block.

e182fc3bb8 [svn-r14930] Maintenance: Fixed more bugs/typos and enabled tests that were failing previously on linew.
Currently only one test (dense attributes) is failing. It looks like C library problem and we
have a similar bug report in Bugzilla: when dense storage is used, attributes are not written
to the file; somehow similar C test doesn't expose the problem while Fortran test does.

65a1c88821 [svn-r12752] Descripton: This is a port to G95 compiler for MAC OSX and AIX 5.2
Previous implementation failed to compile on MAC OS X Tiger 10.4 and AIX 5.2

In previous implementation, each overloaded Fortran function called the same
C function. Since declaration of parameters in INTERFACE block for
C Function differed, some compilers issued warnings but g95 on MAC and AIX
failed to compile.

Solution: Add C wrappers corresponding to each overloaded Fortran function
to call C stub function. This fix should also reduce number of warnings
on IRIX systems.

Platforms tested:  MAC OS and AIX 5.2 (copper) with g95;

Description:
Generally speaking, this is the "signed->unsigned" change to selections.
However, in the process of merging code back, things got stickier and stickier
until I ended up doing a big "sync the two branches up" operation. So... I
brought back all the "infrastructure" fixes from the development branch to the
release branch (which I think were actually making some improvement in
performance) as well as fixed several bugs which had been fixed in one branch,
but not the other.

I've also tagged the repository before making this checkin with the label
"before_signed_unsigned_changes".

Purpose: Added copyright statement; cleaned code and fixed bugs for
         Windows and Cray T90IEEE

Description: Fortran files did not have copyright statement; VL types
did not work on T90IEEE since I never brought the correct code
             from 1.4 branch; there were compilation warnings on Windows;
some character parameters were not passed correctly to C stubs
causing tests to fail on Windows.

Solution: Added copyright statement and clean the code.

Platforms tested: CRAY T90IEEE, arabica, modi4 with parallel, Windows 2000
Only static tests (both debug and release) passed on Windows.
                  DLLs have multiple problems ;-)

    Bug fix
Description:
I borrowed function HDpackFstring from the HDF4 Library and
left name unchanged. It causes linking problems for Fortran users
that use both HDF4 and HDF5 Libraries in their applications.
Solution:
Changed the name to be HD5packFstring

6182da8026 [svn-r3860]
Purpose:
    Windows port
Description:
    Multiple changes:
    * Windows platforms require special compiler directives
       in order to create DLLs.
    * In read/write subroutines data arrays were passed by descriptor.
This worked on UNIX but did not work on Windows.
Solution:
    *  added compiler directives.
    * read/write APIs have been changed. There is an additional
parameter (array that contains the sizes of data buffer dimensions)
and regular arrays are used instead of assumed-shaped arrays.
Platforms tested:
    * Currently this feature does not work. Common blocks are not exported correctly
from one F90 module to another.
I am checking this in so I can ask DEC for help.
    * For static library tests passed on Windows 98 ( except flush2_fortran)
All tests passed on Linux, Solaris 2.7, O2K and T3E

Purpose:
    New feature
Description:
Now all Fortran flags such as H5F_ACC_RDONLY_F (previously defined in the
H5fortran_flags.f90 file) are generated at runtime when h5init_fortran_f
subroutine is called. All flags have now the same value as
corresponding C flags. This change affects user's programming model:
Every Fortran program that uses F90 HDF5 Library has to call
h5init_fortran_f(error) subroutine before the first call to the
F90 HDF5 Library and h5close_fortran_f(error) after the last call to the
Library. h5init(close)_types_f calls are not needed anymore since
    F90 datatypes are intialized(closed) with the h5init(close)_fortran_f
    calls.

     O2K and Solaris2.7

Purpose:

Description:
Attribute test failed on O2K. h5aget_name_f function could not

Solution:

Fixed it to be of INTEGER(SIZE_T) type.
