55345aaf4d [svn-r23550] Description: 
Bring r23549 from trunk to desy_1_8 branch:

    More misc. cleanups, but main change is to make an "extern" header file
for the plugin interface.

Tested on:
    Mac OSX/64 10.8.3 (amazon)

949835b61f [svn-r23539] I took out the "const" symbol from H5PL_get_plugin_type and H5PL_get_plugin_info functions.
